Stars hire Ruff, Rangers hire Vigneault, Several extensions, Saddledome under water in Calgary Floods
Two coach hirings
The Dallas Stars and New York Rangers filled their head coaching positions yesterday with the hirings of Lindy Ruff and Alain Vigneault respectively. Ruff is the former long time head coach of the Buffalo Sabres organization and Alain Vigneault was the former bench boss of the Vancouver Canucks.
Three new names joined a list of contract extensions.
Pavel Datsyuk got upped for 3 years and $22.5M, Datsyuk who is one of Detroit’s franchise players is signed through 2016-2017 according to capgeek.com
Slava Voynov got upped for 6 years and $25M. He will be in LA until the 2018-2019 season at $4.17M per season.
Logan Couture got upped for 5 years and $30M. He was signed through the 2018-2019 season at $6M per year.
I want to send our best wishes to the city of Calgary. They are dealing with intense flooding, the Saddledome is under-water as we speak.
