Crunch survive another day; Blackhawks-Bruins resume their battle for the Stanley Cup
The Syracuse Crunch won last night to keep their season alive, they ended up winning 3-2 and forcing another do or die game tonight (6/15) in Grand Rapids. The Crunch fell down 2-1 after one period before scoring the next two goals in the second period off of the sticks of Ondrej Palat and Richard Panik. There was an incident late in the second period where Gustav Nyquist picked up a spearing major and game misconduct, which lead to a chippy third period, which saw 8 penalties with 24 penalty minutes in it including both goalies picking up 2 penalty minutes with Petr Mrazek getting a diving penalty which also saw Mike Angelidis pick up a roughing minor, and Cedrick Desjarins got a matching roughing minors with Luke Glendening,
Also tonight is game two of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins. The Blackhawks lead the series 1-0 after a game one win in triple overtime 4-3 on Wednesday night in Chicago where Andrew Shaw had the second of a double tip in from the point beating Tuukka Rask. It was the 5th longest game in Stanley Cup Finals history. The game can be seen at 8 PM on NBC Sports Network and CBC in Canada.
