Calder Cup Finals Game 2: Grand Rapids 6 Syracuse 4 (Griffins lead 2-0)
The Grand Rapids Griffins won 6-4 Sunday night and took a 2-0 series lead over the Syracuse Crunch on Syracuse’s home ice. The Griffins will head home for three straight games with a chance to close out the series at home. Landon Ferraro had a 3 point night with a goal and two assists while posting a plus-2. In addition to Ferraro’s goal the Griffins got goals from Tomas Jurco, Tomas Tatar, Jan Mursak, Triston Grand and Francis Pare while Syracuse’s goals came from J.T. Brown, Richard Panik, Andrej Sustr, and Brett Connolly. Grand Rapids goalie Petr Mrazek made 30 saves on 34 shots in the winning effort whereas Syracuse goalie Cedrick Desjarins allow 6 goals on just 29 shots against.
Game 3 of the series is slated for Wednesday night in Grand Rapids, Michigan at 7 PM ET.
