Looking Forward to the Transition to Next Gen Consoles: Part 5

There will be lots of great titles coming out this year, from Rockstar to EA Sports we will look at them all in this post.

The Nominees are:

  • Grand Theft Auto V

There really is no reason that I need to give to have this on the list. But if you want one, it would have to be the fact that it looks like an absolute epic blast. Between that and the mere fact that Grand Theft Auto has a long history of being a fun game to play and you have a recipe for success. Will it top Grand Theft Auto IV? Who knows? But it will be a lot of fun I have no doubt. If you want more reasons then read the previews in that post.

Blacklist_Co-Op_01

  • Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist

This is a game I have been watching for since last summer, due out on August 20th this game looks like it can be the most action packed version of the stealth game series.

  • NHL 14

With improvements to Be a Pro (yet to be revealed) and the fighting engine, skating engine, a new physics system, NHL 14 looks like it can be a really solid product. The one thing that may kill the game is goalies again since they’re not mentioned. Even if the goalies suck I think the game will be a blast and if the Be a GM mode can become a stable part of the game, I feel like NHL 14 can be in sports game of the year candidacy which is something NHL 13 can’t claim.

  • Madden NFL 25

With the addition of Owner mode in Connected Franchise, Madden 25’s franchise mode might be the best in all of sports video games, of course that is if it is executed properly. I feel like Madden was good on the field but I felt like the Connected Careers was incomplete ruining the games fun for me since Madden used to have a deep franchise mode.

  • Saints Row IV

Saints Row IV is going to be even more insane than previous versions of the franchise, which is always a good thing. If Deep Silver keeps the extra mini games in along with all the new weapons and over the top play, it can be a good addition to anyone who for some reason prefers this over the Grand Theft Auto series.

Watch_Dogs

  • Watch_Dogs

I am in love with this game, in case you can’t tell. But really I love what I am hearing and seeing from Watch Dogs, and I hope it can give The Last of US a run for its money for game of the year, but it is going to top The Last of US if IGN’s review is to be believed. I cannot wait to see how this game unfolds and what E3 has to reveal. I am getting a little sick of not hearing anything about the game, I think the actual story line or reasoning for Aiden Pierce’s methods.

  • Killzone: Shadow Fall

This game was revealed during the Sony reveal of the Playstation 4 back in February, and has arguably the best graphics on the PS4 judging solely on what we’ve seen so far the Friday before E3. I am interested in seeing more from this game and will be looking for it.

Infamous_Second_Son_GATE1

  • InFamous: Second Son

Another great looking game, and it looks like it has a strong potential to be great gameplay and storyline wise. There is just to little known so far, but if the motion cap video is a good gauge, things are looking on the up.

Battlfield 4

Call of Duty: Ghosts

  • Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts

Both of these games looks to be the real deal, and at E3 the multi-player of this Battlefield 4 will be revealed and that should finally let us see a good portion of gameplay. Outside of the visuals I hope the game can impress on a gameplay end too because if the game plays as good as it looks then it can be a classic. And this weekend Activision will have a pre-E3 show to reveal their game in Sunday before E3.

With that, that is my list. I am looking very much forward to E3 and getting a look at new games, updates at games in progress. I am also looking forward to seeing how insanely detailed and hopefully great the gameplay looks on the next generation of consoles.

If you want to look back at my E3 preview piece (more or less anyway) you can check it out here.
